Comments(9) # Poppies london e11

The common red poppy has a predilection for recently disturbed soil, hence its presence both on the first world war battlefields and more peacefully here alongside Whipps Cross Road where last year the whole length was excavated to make way for an enormous (you could drive a small car through it) new water pipe. Their delicate dancing heads are a delight as one passes on foot, bicycle or even by bus. Canon EOS-1D Mark III
