They're less often referred to as Hedge Sparrows these days but some folk still call them so, I believe. But even a cursory glance will show see that they're not really Sparrows at all, a different body shape and sharp pointy beak the key differences. Even though we've had at least one in our garden for several years and now at least two, I very rarely manage to get a shot of them. They're very secretive and tend to stick close to the hedge or edges of the garden where their colour makes it hard to spot them so nice of this one to pose for us. Canon EOS 40D
