Bird food....

Welcome to the all new London (almost) Daily Nature Photo. To start off we have something that some will consider gross or eurgh and probably none other than me, beautiful. Whilst clearing out the kitchen cupboards, I came across this jar of healthy seed based energy snacks. As you can see, it had been well and truly colonised by some flour moths. The Blackbird found them most appetising. "Oooh good, caterpillar based energy snacks!" he said. Probably. On a more pleasant note, anyone who has yesterday's Grauniad colour weekend magazine to hand might care to learn that the teen pictured astride a horse on pages 5 and 135 is my eldest. It's always a small joy to come across a photo one doesn't even know one has sold, particularly when it's of one of the family! For those Guardian free households, Blackbird found them most appetising. "Oooh good, caterpillar based energy snacks!" he said. Probably.
