Oak Silk Button Spangle Gall
Comments(5) # Oak Silk Button Spangle Gall london e17

Following a comment from Witchy a week or so ago, I alluded to the large number of pests that attack our native oak trees. Indeed, there, are more pests for this one tree than any other in the UK although happily few are usually fatal on their own account. The Oak Silk Button Spangle Gall is one these non-lethal pests. It is the home of the larvae of a small wasp and I hope we can all see why the gall is so named. Canon EOS 40D
