Brimstone Butterfly
Comments(6) # Brimstone Butterfly london e17

Though the underside of this butterfly's wings have a definite green tinge the upper sides are a glorious yellow and so one can easily believe that they are the species responsible for the name of butterfly. They're not a particularly uncommon species but they do seem to be most flighty, I spent nearly ten minutes pursuing this one through the grass and brambles trying to get a half-decent shot. It was apposite that I came across this one the other day at the Waterworks as they remind me of Corfu and I'm off there on Monday. Posting of Daily London Nature will, of course, continue in my absence. Canon EOS 40D
