Azure Damselflies Mating
Comments(3) # Azure Damselflies Mating london e17

I mentioned, when showing you the Large Reds laying eggs, that I hadn't yet showed you any Damselflies mating yet this year. Well, I'm happy to say that, in a short break in the rainy weather I came across this pair of Azure Damselflies in the classic wheel position of Damselfly mating. The Azure Damselflies (and the very similar Common Blues) are usually the next species to show around here after the Reds so nice to see that things are as normal if a little later than usual. You'll notice that the female Azure Damselfly is actually green rather than Azure, this makes them rather harder to spot unless they are joined to their partner. Canon EOS 40D
