Young Gull
Comments(1) # Young Gull london e17

And so back to the birds making the most of the recent foul weather. This young gull, which looks to be at sea in this shot but was actually just hovering over the choppy water of the reservoir, seemed t ease in the strong winds, unlike Friday's Grebe. I suppose this is as we might expect as the winds the gulls experience off shore are usually much stronger than those the inland species normally encounter. Indeed the gull seemed far more at ease than usual, often they seem to be having to flap a lot more than they would like to, whereas on this occasion it made a soaring hover look easy whilst the normal reservoir birds suffered from bad feathers or sheltered from the wind altogether.
