Comments(3) # Rape london e17

There are, apparently, many who don't like the bright yellow fields of rape that seem to fill so much of our arable countryside these days. Photographically, however, they can make a wonderful contrast against a deep blue English sky so in that regard I'm all in favour. The pollen gives me terrible hayfever but thanks to its large size it doesn't normally get dispersed far from the fields. This plant growing alone amongst the brambles on a bank of the River Lea has presumably come here by way of a passing bird. Thanks, a nice bit of yellow for the East End. Probably not enough yet to be able to claim any subsidies. Canon EOS 5D
